    I wish I could create logos like those, but I’m not quite there yet. I have a few concepts that I’ve sketched out, but I don’t know how do get a high quality digital version. I’m told Adobe Illustrator is the best tool for these sorts of things, but I don’t have access. Is there another program I could use that is cheap or maybe even free?

    I would take a look at GIMP. It is a popular free alternative to Photoshop, but can also make many of the same graphics that you would in Illustrator.
