If only Edison knew that his invention would do more than just light dark rooms. Over the years light bulbs have become the cliche symbol of creative thinking. Pardon the pun, but this is just a small sampling of a whole mess of light bulb themed logos. Know of any stand outs that aren’t showcased here?
Also, do you think that the image of a lightbulb to show creativity has been done to death? Can it be kept alive through creative reinventions like some of those found here? Let us know in the comments.

Many of my personal fav’s got the nod, which is cool. As for the been “Done to death discussion”, that’s where a talented designer will shine with something new and exciting.

Some nice logos there, but some I’m not to keen on too! Done to death.. uhmm I think it all depends on the quality.. clip art of lightbulbs on microsoft word in the late 90’s/early 00’s was everywhere, but I guess there isn’t really too many logos or companies that use lightbulbs in their identity! thanks for the inspiration!

Really cool dude. I especially like the Thomas Electric one. This is unrelated to the post but what comment plug-ins are you using? Its very cool. Love the design. I no about CommentLuv, but how do you highlight your admin posts and customize the default gravatar?
I definitely want to use something similar for my design blog.

I’ve actually written a tutorial on changing the default gravatar. I would recommend taking a look at that for more. As far as the highlighting admin comments goes, that’s something that I’m looking to write a post on in the coming week or two. Stay tuned!
